y otros&amp;lt;br\/&amp;gt;&amp;lt;!-- \/wp:paragraph --&amp;gt;&lt;\/div&gt;\" href=\"https:\/\/learn.gamingee.eu\/es\/glossary\/lgbtq\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-gt-translate-attributes='[{\"attribute\":\"data-cmtooltip\", \"format\":\"html\"}]' tabindex=\"0\" role=\"link\">LGBTQ+<\/a> todav&iacute;a se ven afectadas por ciertos prejuicios y mitos que persisten en la sociedad.<\/li><li>Los mitos m&aacute;s comunes deben ser deconstruidos para lograr una normalizaci&oacute;n de la comunidad <a class=\"glossaryLink\" aria-describedby=\"tt\" data-cmtooltip=\"&lt;div class=glossaryItemTitle&gt;LGBTQ+&lt;\/div&gt;&lt;div class=glossaryItemBody&gt;&amp;lt;!-- wp:paragraph --&amp;gt;Lesbianas, gays, bisexuales, transg&eacute;nero, &amp;lt;em&amp;gt;queer&amp;lt;\/em&amp;gt; y otros&amp;lt;br\/&amp;gt;&amp;lt;!-- \/wp:paragraph --&amp;gt;&lt;\/div&gt;\" href=\"https:\/\/learn.gamingee.eu\/es\/glossary\/lgbtq\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-gt-translate-attributes='[{\"attribute\":\"data-cmtooltip\", \"format\":\"html\"}]' tabindex=\"0\" role=\"link\">LGBTQ+<\/a>.<\/li><li>La aceptaci&oacute;n y el conocimiento de los diferentes grupos <a class=\"glossaryLink\" aria-describedby=\"tt\" data-cmtooltip=\"&lt;div class=glossaryItemTitle&gt;LGBTQ+&lt;\/div&gt;&lt;div class=glossaryItemBody&gt;&amp;lt;!-- wp:paragraph --&amp;gt;Lesbianas, gays, bisexuales, transg&eacute;nero, &amp;lt;em&amp;gt;queer&amp;lt;\/em&amp;gt; y otros&amp;lt;br\/&amp;gt;&amp;lt;!-- \/wp:paragraph --&amp;gt;&lt;\/div&gt;\" href=\"https:\/\/learn.gamingee.eu\/es\/glossary\/lgbtq\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-gt-translate-attributes='[{\"attribute\":\"data-cmtooltip\", \"format\":\"html\"}]' tabindex=\"0\" role=\"link\">LGBTQ+<\/a>, tanto en la familia como en la educaci&oacute;n, tienen un impacto positivo en la salud mental de las personas que pertenecen a estos grupos (y de todos los dem&aacute;s), por lo que es muy recomendable promoverlos.<\/li><\/ul><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-313ad38 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"313ad38\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<h3>9.5.1. INTRODUCCI&Oacute;N<\/h3><p>A pesar de que a lo largo de los a&ntilde;os la normalizaci&oacute;n y aceptaci&oacute;n de los grupos <a class=\"glossaryLink\" aria-describedby=\"tt\" data-cmtooltip=\"&lt;div class=glossaryItemTitle&gt;LGBTQ+&lt;\/div&gt;&lt;div class=glossaryItemBody&gt;&amp;lt;!-- wp:paragraph --&amp;gt;Lesbianas, gays, bisexuales, transg&eacute;nero, &amp;lt;em&amp;gt;queer&amp;lt;\/em&amp;gt; y otros&amp;lt;br\/&amp;gt;&amp;lt;!-- \/wp:paragraph --&amp;gt;&lt;\/div&gt;\" href=\"https:\/\/learn.gamingee.eu\/es\/glossary\/lgbtq\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-gt-translate-attributes='[{\"attribute\":\"data-cmtooltip\", \"format\":\"html\"}]' tabindex=\"0\" role=\"link\">LGBTQ+<\/a> se ha vuelto cada vez m&aacute;s com&uacute;n, principalmente en los pa&iacute;ses m&aacute;s desarrollados, la representaci&oacute;n de identidades que tradicionalmente han sido silenciadas, ocultadas, castigadas o fingidas debido al rechazo de la sociedad hacia ellas, todav&iacute;a est&aacute; asociada a diversos prejuicios que se han establecido y dificultan esta normalizaci&oacute;n.<\/p><p>La aparici&oacute;n y el mantenimiento de estos prejuicios se ha explicado desde diferentes perspectivas. Uno de los m&aacute;s investigados es el <strong>esencialismo biol&oacute;gico de g&eacute;nero<\/strong>. Quienes adoptan esta posici&oacute;n sostienen que las identidades de g&eacute;nero se basan en un sustrato biol&oacute;gico y, por lo tanto, son categor&iacute;as estables en el tiempo que no pueden mutar ni cambiar (Smiler y Gelman, 2008), formando as&iacute; una serie de atributos fijos y naturales (Basti&aacute;n y Haslam, 2006). Seg&uacute;n esta perspectiva, es el estado biol&oacute;gico de la persona lo que es decisivo, no lo que siente. Algunas teor&iacute;as argumentan que muchas personas heterosexuales y cisg&eacute;nero creen que si una persona no es un hombre, ser&aacute; una mujer, ya que est&aacute;n influenciados por creencias preestablecidas en la sociedad y lo que se aprende culturalmente. Esto los lleva a asumir el binarismo de g&eacute;nero que, a su vez, influye directamente en los estereotipos que se generan con respecto a las personas transg&eacute;nero (Gallagher y Bodenhausen, 2021).<\/p><p>Las personas que tienen creencias esencialistas hacia un grupo creen que las caracter&iacute;sticas que definen a ese grupo son dif&iacute;ciles de cambiar y, por lo tanto, las consideran universales (Glazier et al., 2021). Por lo tanto, todas las personas en ese grupo compartir&iacute;an la misma esencia que es inherente a su ser (Rhodes et al., 2012). Investigaciones anteriores han encontrado que la existencia de este tipo de creencias esencialistas sobre un grupo se asocia con m&aacute;s prejuicios hacia las personas que forman parte de ese grupo (Glazier et al., 2021), favoreciendo tambi&eacute;n la aparici&oacute;n de estereotipos (Rhodes et al., 2012). En este sentido, la investigaci&oacute;n muestra que cuanto mayor es el nivel de creencias esencialistas de g&eacute;nero, mayor es el prejuicio hacia las personas transg&eacute;nero (Davidson y Czopp, 2014).<\/p><p>Las personas transg&eacute;nero no se ajustan a las normas sociales preestablecidas sobre el g&eacute;nero, lo que influye en la percepci&oacute;n del resto de la poblaci&oacute;n hacia ellas (Gallagher y Bodenhausen, 2021). Lo mismo es cierto para otros grupos <a class=\"glossaryLink\" aria-describedby=\"tt\" data-cmtooltip=\"&lt;div class=glossaryItemTitle&gt;LGBTQ+&lt;\/div&gt;&lt;div class=glossaryItemBody&gt;&amp;lt;!-- wp:paragraph --&amp;gt;Lesbianas, gays, bisexuales, transg&eacute;nero, &amp;lt;em&amp;gt;queer&amp;lt;\/em&amp;gt; y otros&amp;lt;br\/&amp;gt;&amp;lt;!-- \/wp:paragraph --&amp;gt;&lt;\/div&gt;\" href=\"https:\/\/learn.gamingee.eu\/es\/glossary\/lgbtq\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-gt-translate-attributes='[{\"attribute\":\"data-cmtooltip\", \"format\":\"html\"}]' tabindex=\"0\" role=\"link\">LGBTQ+<\/a>. Esto conduce a fen&oacute;menos como la <a class=\"glossaryLink\" aria-describedby=\"tt\" data-cmtooltip=\"&lt;div class=glossaryItemTitle&gt;Transfobia&lt;\/div&gt;&lt;div class=glossaryItemBody&gt;&amp;lt;!-- wp:paragraph --&amp;gt;Es el miedo, el odio, la incredulidad o la desconfianza de las personas transg&eacute;nero, que se cree que son transg&eacute;nero o cuya expresi&oacute;n de g&eacute;nero no se ajusta a los roles de g&eacute;nero tradicionales.&amp;lt;br\/&amp;gt;&amp;lt;!-- \/wp:paragraph --&amp;gt;&lt;\/div&gt;\" href=\"https:\/\/learn.gamingee.eu\/es\/glossary\/transphobia\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-gt-translate-attributes='[{\"attribute\":\"data-cmtooltip\", \"format\":\"html\"}]' tabindex=\"0\" role=\"link\">transfobia<\/a>, que es muy caracter&iacute;stica de los individuos que no aceptan a aquellos que no cumplen con las normas de g&eacute;nero convencionales (Nagoshi et al., 2018), o la aparici&oacute;n de prejuicios hacia estos grupos (e.g., Axt et al., 2021; Prusaczyk y Hodson, 2020; Rad et al., 2019; Wilton et al., 2019).<\/p><h3>9.5.2. DESARROLLO DEL TEMA<\/h3><h4><span style=\"font-size: 20.8px;\">9.5.<\/span><strong>2.1. Desmontando mitos sobre los grupos LGBTQ+<\/strong><\/h4><p>La existencia de prejuicios hacia los grupos <a class=\"glossaryLink\" aria-describedby=\"tt\" data-cmtooltip=\"&lt;div class=glossaryItemTitle&gt;LGBTQ+&lt;\/div&gt;&lt;div class=glossaryItemBody&gt;&amp;lt;!-- wp:paragraph --&amp;gt;Lesbianas, gays, bisexuales, transg&eacute;nero, &amp;lt;em&amp;gt;queer&amp;lt;\/em&amp;gt; y otros&amp;lt;br\/&amp;gt;&amp;lt;!-- \/wp:paragraph --&amp;gt;&lt;\/div&gt;\" href=\"https:\/\/learn.gamingee.eu\/es\/glossary\/lgbtq\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-gt-translate-attributes='[{\"attribute\":\"data-cmtooltip\", \"format\":\"html\"}]' tabindex=\"0\" role=\"link\">LGBTQ+<\/a> ha derviado al establecimiento de diversos mitos en la sociedad que necesitan ser desmentidos para facilitar la normalizaci&oacute;n de estos grupos.<\/p><h5><strong>Mito 1<\/strong>. <em>Nadie nace homosexual<\/em>.<\/h5><p><u>Hechos<\/u>: La Asociaci&oacute;n Americana de Psicolog&iacute;a (<a class=\"glossaryLink\"  aria-describedby=\"tt\"  data-cmtooltip=\"&lt;div class=glossaryItemTitle&gt;APA&lt;\/div&gt;&lt;div class=glossaryItemBody&gt;&amp;lt;!-- wp:paragraph --&amp;gt;Asociaci&oacute;n Americana de Psicolog&iacute;a&amp;lt;br\/&amp;gt;&amp;lt;!-- \/wp:paragraph --&amp;gt;&lt;\/div&gt;\"  href=\"https:\/\/learn.gamingee.eu\/es\/glossary\/apa\/\"  target=\"_blank\"  data-gt-translate-attributes='[{\"attribute\":\"data-cmtooltip\", \"format\":\"html\"}]'  tabindex='0' role='link'>APA<\/a>) afirma que &ldquo;la mayor&iacute;a de las personas experimentan poco o ning&uacute;n sentido de elecci&oacute;n sobre su orientaci&oacute;n sexual&rdquo;. En 1994, la <a class=\"glossaryLink\"  aria-describedby=\"tt\"  data-cmtooltip=\"&lt;div class=glossaryItemTitle&gt;APA&lt;\/div&gt;&lt;div class=glossaryItemBody&gt;&amp;lt;!-- wp:paragraph --&amp;gt;Asociaci&oacute;n Americana de Psicolog&iacute;a&amp;lt;br\/&amp;gt;&amp;lt;!-- \/wp:paragraph --&amp;gt;&lt;\/div&gt;\"  href=\"https:\/\/learn.gamingee.eu\/es\/glossary\/apa\/\"  target=\"_blank\"  data-gt-translate-attributes='[{\"attribute\":\"data-cmtooltip\", \"format\":\"html\"}]'  tabindex='0' role='link'>APA<\/a> escribi&oacute; que &ldquo;la homosexualidad no es una cuesti&oacute;n de elecci&oacute;n individual&rdquo; y que la investigaci&oacute;n &ldquo;sugiere que la orientaci&oacute;n homosexual ocurre muy temprano en el ciclo de vida, posiblemente incluso antes del nacimiento&rdquo;.<\/p><h5><strong>Mito 2<\/strong>: <em>Los homosexuales pueden elegir ser heterosexuales<\/em>.<\/h5><p><u>Hechos<\/u>: La terapia de conversi&oacute;n ha sido rechazada por organizaciones m&eacute;dicas, psicol&oacute;gicas, psiqui&aacute;tricas y de asesoramiento establecidas y de reconocido prestigio.<\/p><h5><strong>Mito 3<\/strong>: &nbsp;La <em>identidad transg&eacute;nero es una enfermedad mental<\/em>.<\/h5><p><u>Hechos<\/u>: Aunque la identidad transg&eacute;nero no es en s&iacute; misma una enfermedad, las personas transg&eacute;nero pueden experimentar problemas de salud mental debido a la discriminaci&oacute;n y la desaprobaci&oacute;n. Pero estas enfermedades no causan, ni son causadas por, su identidad transg&eacute;nero. Son el resultado de la exclusi&oacute;n social y el estigma que a menudo experimentan las personas transg&eacute;nero.<\/p><h5><strong>Mito 4<\/strong>: <em>Los estudiantes son demasiado j&oacute;venes para conocer su identidad de g&eacute;nero u orientaci&oacute;n sexual<\/em>.<\/h5><p><u>Hechos<\/u>: Si bien el autoconcepto de un\/a ni&ntilde;o\/a puede cambiar con el tiempo, esto no se debe a que cambie de opini&oacute;n. Los j&oacute;venes <a class=\"glossaryLink\" aria-describedby=\"tt\" data-cmtooltip=\"&lt;div class=glossaryItemTitle&gt;LGBTQ+&lt;\/div&gt;&lt;div class=glossaryItemBody&gt;&amp;lt;!-- wp:paragraph --&amp;gt;Lesbianas, gays, bisexuales, transg&eacute;nero, &amp;lt;em&amp;gt;queer&amp;lt;\/em&amp;gt; y otros&amp;lt;br\/&amp;gt;&amp;lt;!-- \/wp:paragraph --&amp;gt;&lt;\/div&gt;\" href=\"https:\/\/learn.gamingee.eu\/es\/glossary\/lgbtq\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-gt-translate-attributes='[{\"attribute\":\"data-cmtooltip\", \"format\":\"html\"}]' tabindex=\"0\" role=\"link\">LGBTQ+<\/a> deben sortear muchas barreras y normas sociales para aceptar sus identidades <a class=\"glossaryLink\" aria-describedby=\"tt\" data-cmtooltip=\"&lt;div class=glossaryItemTitle&gt;Queer&lt;\/div&gt;&lt;div class=glossaryItemBody&gt;&amp;lt;!-- wp:paragraph --&amp;gt;An adjective used by some people whose sexual orientation is not exclusively heterosexual or straight. This umbrella term includes people who have nonbinary, gender-fluid, or gender nonconforming identities.&amp;lt;br\/&amp;gt;&amp;lt;!-- \/wp:paragraph --&amp;gt;&lt;\/div&gt;\" href=\"https:\/\/learn.gamingee.eu\/es\/glossary\/queer\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-gt-translate-attributes='[{\"attribute\":\"data-cmtooltip\", \"format\":\"html\"}]' tabindex=\"0\" role=\"link\">queer<\/a>. Esto no significa que no reconozcan sus identidades a una edad temprana. Los ni&ntilde;os no necesitan ser p&uacute;beres o sexualmente activos para &ldquo;conocer realmente&rdquo; su identidad de g&eacute;nero u orientaci&oacute;n sexual. Esta es una expectativa que no ponemos en los estudiantes heterosexuales y cisg&eacute;nero. En realidad, los ni&ntilde;os suelen conocer su g&eacute;nero a partir de los 2 o 3 a&ntilde;os. Adem&aacute;s, la investigaci&oacute;n sugiere que permitir que los ni&ntilde;os peque&ntilde;os alineen su identidad de g&eacute;nero con su expresi&oacute;n de g&eacute;nero se asocia con mejores resultados mentales entre los ni&ntilde;os transg&eacute;nero.<\/p><h5><strong>Mito 5<\/strong>: <em>Un\/a ni&ntilde;o\/a puede convertir a otros ni&ntilde;os en homosexuales, ya sean familiares o amigos<\/em>.<\/h5><p><u>Hechos<\/u>: La orientaci&oacute;n sexual no se aprende de los compa&ntilde;eros. Aunque es posible que los ni&ntilde;os y adolescentes se imiten o influyan mutuamente, la orientaci&oacute;n sexual no es algo que se aprenda de nadie. Si los ni&ntilde;os que comparten el mismo entorno tambi&eacute;n salen del armario, ser&aacute; porque se sienten animados a hacerlo, no porque hayan sido influenciados.<\/p><h5><strong>Mito 6<\/strong>: <em>Una persona LGBTQ+ es un peligro para los ni&ntilde;os<\/em>.<\/h5><p><u>Hechos<\/u>: Las personas <a class=\"glossaryLink\" aria-describedby=\"tt\" data-cmtooltip=\"&lt;div class=glossaryItemTitle&gt;LGBTQ+&lt;\/div&gt;&lt;div class=glossaryItemBody&gt;&amp;lt;!-- wp:paragraph --&amp;gt;Lesbianas, gays, bisexuales, transg&eacute;nero, &amp;lt;em&amp;gt;queer&amp;lt;\/em&amp;gt; y otros&amp;lt;br\/&amp;gt;&amp;lt;!-- \/wp:paragraph --&amp;gt;&lt;\/div&gt;\" href=\"https:\/\/learn.gamingee.eu\/es\/glossary\/lgbtq\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-gt-translate-attributes='[{\"attribute\":\"data-cmtooltip\", \"format\":\"html\"}]' tabindex=\"0\" role=\"link\">LGBTQ+<\/a> no son m&aacute;s propensas a acosar sexualmente a los ni&ntilde;os que cualquier otra persona. La atracci&oacute;n sexual hacia los ni&ntilde;os no es causada por la homosexualidad, sino que es un trastorno psiqui&aacute;trico llamado pedofilia. Esta afirmaci&oacute;n tiende a afectar a los hombres homosexuales en particular, pero los estudios muestran que los hombres homosexuales no son m&aacute;s propensos a abusar sexualmente de los ni&ntilde;os que los hombres heterosexuales (Schlatter y Steinback, 2011).
